here are a few extra pics from the neighborhood and a few highlights of the move in day...including our first trick or treat-ers, our giant tv, and some garden goodies left behind by the last owners :)

OUR FIRST PLACE :)
so i am obviously waaaayy behind on posting, but moving everything you own, having your wife start a new job, making multiple trips to ikea, and having to bring both cars into the mechanic in the span of a week seriously cuts into the blogging time! anyways, i'll try to post more soon, but this should give everyone a good idea of what the new place looks like :)

LOLA'S NIGHT
KRUEGER'S FARM
along with shane maria and our german intern ulisse, adrienne and i drove out to sauvie island for a little fall fun. there were hay rides, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and even a bonfire that helped take a bit of the chill out of the air. since its only 10 minutes outside of the city, i feel like we'll be making a few more trips to krueger farm before the winter sets in.

OHIO PLAYERS
last weekend, adrienne and i flew back to the cbus for a pair of weddings that we were uber excited for. the weekend was crazy packed full of activities (which were made much easier by j and alicia who generously let us stay with them and borrow their car..so nice) it was a beautiful fall weekend in ohio, and the two weddings (carmen and jim / amy and steve) were both beautiful. i could try to describe all the fun we had at the weddings, but to be honest, i'd rather tell this ridiculous story.....on saturday morning (after being out all night at carmen's wedding, i dropped adrienne off at the hotel for hair and makeup at 8 am. after the drop off, i woke the big curt up, since i was only 2 miles from his new home and after the official tour, we got breakfast at bob evans, which was lovely. once i returned to j and alicia's house, i crashed in the upstairs bedroom only to be awakened by the sound of a saw. maybe someone was working a new deck i thought. i was wrong. when i made my way downstairs, i was met my j and his friend kyle enjoying a celebratory beer, becuase they had just cut the dead carcass of the deer they killed earlier that morning into pieces. needless to say, my morning of hair/ makeup / and bob evans was now slightly less masculine in comparison to the 5am hunting trip where two men tracked and killed a living creature with nothing but their cunning and wits ( and a huge cross bow that could kill an elephant at 100 yards) in any case, it was a great weekend that was only just getting started....to be continued...
YEESH....ITS BEEN A WHILE
.....and back to blogging. i apologize for the long stretch inbetween posts, but i promise i have good reasons for my absence. first and foremost has been adrienne and my quest to find the perfect house, but there have been other things as well. work is pretty crazy right now, adrienne and i still cant figure out our wireless router so we can both enjoy the internet machine, and i'm just generally getting lazy as i get older. over the next few posts i will do my best to catch everyone up on what i've been doing. highlights in this post are a few pics from sunset highway ( i guess i shouldnt be taking photos while driving, but i'm very good at multi tasking), a shot of rob darmour on his b-day, and a lot of adrienne being goofy. in one photo she is mourning the loss of her charmin toilet tissue. while i agree its a superior product, at three times the cost of the store brand, hard decisions had to made. to help cheer her up, we went to see "cloudy with a chance of meatballs" in 3-D....which was fantastic. i kind of want everything i see to be in 3-D, which i guess already happens, but you know what i'm saying. the last picture of adrienne, i honestly have no idea what she was doing. sometimes before bed she will disappear in the bathroom for hours and i will come in see something like this . i believe this particular time she was pretending to be mulan, but who knows.

PINTS TO PASTA 10K
on sunday morning adrienne and i ran in the pints to pasta 10k. the photos that you see above chronical my race through the streets of portland from adidas headquarters to the old spaghetti factory. clearly adrienne and i dominated the competition, and while we did set numerous records, they were later stricken from the record books since they were slightly wind aided and they were not actually records....after the race we chowed down on a hearty plate of noodles and downed a few beers (which i realize sort of negates any benefit of running a 10k, but was fun none the less.) the whole day was a blasty and i fully intend to participate in any and all races that adidas will pay my entry fee for, donate money to charity for me, and give me free stuff for completing :)

FUN AT WORK
before the long weekend set in, david cin had a great idea to get some sketching done for next season. to stimulate creativity, david brought cheez its and capri suns for everyone, which were not only delicious, but also made me feel like i was on a sixth grade field trip. since that theme was already in full swing, shane and i had fun on a nature walk across the sky bridge where we found a cool praying mantis. worrying about its safety, shane brought our friend to the nearby bushes and released him into the wild. (after that sam told us a similar story from his childhood where he found a cool moth, nursed it back to health and released it in the wild, only to see a blue jay swoop in and eat his friend within seconds of him letting it go......if you see sam, please give him a hug and tell him its not his fault.)

AUF WIEDERSEHEN MARK
in between boom headlocks, everyone from work got out to celebrate our friend mark chang's last day at adidas america...mark decided to try his chances at the adidas home base in herzogenaurauch, germany. mark was the developer for a couple of my favorite projects, and will always hold a special place with me for introducing me to drinking games in china....we're going to miss having mark around, (and we're going to have to draft a new point guard), but as soon as he conquers germania, we'll be hoopin' and partying again in no time.
